Degus are such fun to watch. The girls are 5 years old. They came in due to the family’s domestic abuse and I am guessing the shouting did cause trauma to the degus. We did not see them for many months. The degus would just hide away but eventually they ventured out and now 4 years later do explore on you, once they are happy and know you. A very large cage is needed for the girls to explore and have fun. You can view our photo in this album to get a view on size.
